The Toshiba C655 series laptops are the entry level 15" laptop. They use the same cable style dc plug that many other lines of toshiba laptops have been using for the last few years (L305, L355, L505, A305, A505, etc.).
This C655 came in with no power to the laptop when plugged in. The connection did feel a little loose but nothing was physically damaged. The customer reported needing to wiggle the ac adapter tip in just the right way to get it to power up but this had stopped working as well.
The notebook needs to be completely taken apart to access the dc jack and should be performed by a professional in my opinion (of course :)).
Like always we replace the cable style plug instead of trying to repair it. Once the jack is replaced and put back together the laptop works like new again.
