Gateway LT2032U DC Power Jack Repair/Replacement
The Gateway LT2032U is a 10.1" Netbook. It's basically a re branded Acer One laptop (Acer bought Gateway).
This LT2000 series came in with the dc jack pushed back inside the laptop. You can no longer plug the power cord in properly. The power connection is held in by a plastic housing and sticky tape on one side of the power plug. It plugs into the motherboard and isn't directly soldered on. The netbook does need to be almost completely taken apart to access the dc jack.
The picture shown is the laptop torn down the access the dc jack. The plastic housing was broken so it needed to be glued into place with a special gel super glue.
It takes 24 hours to set and then the notebook can be put back together. The laptop now powers on and works great!
