Asus G73S DC Power Jack Repair

This Asus G73S laptop came in the shop with a physically broken power plug. With a broken connection you can't power the laptop on or charge the battery. As you can see in the picture the center pin is completely gone. Usually this means someone dropped it or tripped over the power cord. Normal use shouldn't cause this kind of damage.
The G73 series needs to be completely taken apart to the motherboard access the dc jack and it uses a six pin (2.5mm) plug. Many gateway laptops and other Asus laptops use this jack.
Once taken apart and have the motherboard out it can be de-soldered and a new jack installed. After the repair it looks and works great!
