Gateway NV53A DC Power Jack Repair

We keep seeing more gateway NV53a and Acer 5740 series laptops on for plug replacement. The dc jack is usually pushed back inside the laptop and needs to be replaced. The bottom plastic that holds the hinge screws in place is usually broken due the flimsy design Acer has manufactured. Depending on the damage we can sometimes glue the plastic back in place to make is functional.
The NV53a uses a cable style dc jack that plugs directly into the motherboard. Sometimes the plastic housing that holds the cable plug into place is also broken and needs to be glued back together.
