This gateway mx6450/MA3 came in with the almost the same symptoms of almost every MA gateway laptop that comes in. The jack feels pretty solid but the laptop simply won't power up. When disassembled the jack looks pretty good and doesn't show any signs of oxidation or failure.
After the jack is replaced the laptop powers up and charges the battery.
